A turf division manager is responsible for performing consultations and lawn evaluations with customers, managing turf applicators, as well as applying fertilizers and weed controls. These responsibilities may include mixing, spraying, or spreading chemicals. A strong background in turf or golf course management is helpful. Golf course superintendents encouraged to apply. Must be legal to work in the U.S. and have transportation to and from work.
Responsibilities and Duties:
-Meeting with customers for consultations and lawn evaluations.
-Developing weed control and fertilizer programs for warm and cool season grasses. -Must work with suppliers to coordinate purchase and delivery of materials needed for lawn applications.
-Manage Lawn care applicators and perform quality control on existing properties.
-Mixing chemicals as directed for lawn treatments.
-Spray fertilizers and/or weed controls as scheduled.
-Mixing and/or applying pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, or insecticides through sprays, soil incorporation, or chemical application on trees, shrubs, and lawns.
-Maintain clear and accurate records of all required work daily.
-Keep work vehicles and equipment clean and organized.
-Perform daily equipment safety checks and routine maintenance as needed.
-Perform such other activities that may be temporarily or permanently assigned.
-Must be available from 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday-Friday. Saturday hours may be required depending on the week and weather conditions.
Qualifications and Skills:
-Must be registered to treat turf in Virginia.
-Must have valid commercial applicator or registered technician spray license in Turf (3A) and Ornamentals (3B).
-Must have working knowledge of all turf care and knowledge of pests and diseases that affect turf, ornamentals, shrubs and trees.
-2+ years professional lawn care experience.
-Ability to lift 50 lbs or more daily.
-Ability to interact professionally with all customers, employees and those from external organizations.
